We are looking for a part time (20 hours per week) Advancement Assistant to join our dynamic Advancement team at our Albuquerque headquarters. The Advancement Assistant plays a key role in representing Accion to clients, donors and the community, and in providing outstanding administrative support to the Vice President of Philanthropy and the Advancement team. Our team members serve as stewards of Accion’s values-driven, high-performance culture. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative and clierical support to the Vice President of Strategic Philanthropy and Investments and the Advancement team;
  • Maintains mailing lists, generates fundraising progress reports, provides desktop publishing, graphic design and social media support, administers website content, and provides substantial administrative support such as making travel arrangements, filing, photocopying, coordinating meetings and taking notes;
  • Processes contributions and generates thank you letters, and staffs and fulfills moves management as requested for donors and prospects;
  • Provides data-entry support of prospect and donor information into the advancement database on an ongoing basis, continually ensures an accurate and updated database;
  • Support event planning and logistics, such as scheduling and coordinating event, securing venue and catering, managing invite and RSVP lists, and creating and sending invitations;
  • Performs effective donor prospect identification and research;
  • Enthusiastically upholds Accion’s organizational values of passion, pioneering spirit, integrity, excellence and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Must have a passion for increasing economic opportunity and access to capital;
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 1 to 3 years’ experience in administration preferred;
  • Advancement or development experience a plus;
  • Accurate and detail oriented, flexible, and calm under pressure; and
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar fundraising database/software helpful.
